Sailing In Pacific NorthWest

Puget Sound Sailing

This is about sailing in Puget Sound. Puget Sound has several definitions. The one I like is also called Salish Sea and includes what is usually known as Puget Sound, which is the waters south of Admilitary Inlet, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Strait of Georgia.

Our new boat is named Sandpiper. She is a Heritage 36 Sundeck with a single Cummins 220HP diesel engine and a bow thruster. Although only a half-foot longer and a foot wider than our sailboat she seems much bigger. Fortunately, she still fits our slip!

Sweet & Easy

This is the boat we used for many years to cruise Puget Sound. It is a Sceptre 36, a fiberglass sloop with a fin keel and skeg hung rudder.

This picture was taken anchored in Ballet Bay just south of the Hardy Islands in British Columbia, Canada.

Sweet & Easy has sold!
